Periods are the probably the most annoying part of being a woman. They always start unexpectedly and they mess up your emotions while somehow managing to ruin the one pair of panties you really love.
Can you remember the dreaded day you came on your period? I can.. My mum was in hospital having surgery and i was left with dad who is amazing unless you need to talk periods or sex anyway.. I was 12 and it happened during PE (of all the times to happen) in a lovely pair of white shorts! I had no idea really what was going on just that i was having major cramps and my lovely white shorts were ruined - i ran home - tried to sneak into the house only to be greeted by my dad wondering why i was bunking off school waiting for the royal telling off but that didn't happen instead he could see i was holding back the tears and with one tight hug from him and him asking what was wrong - open the flood gates of emotions and him trying to figure out what i was blubbering about - he told me to go for a warm bath and compose myself - by the time i'd finished in the bath - i got out and headed to my room where there was an assortment of Tampons/Pads and a Paracetamol to help with the pain and some chocolate goodies!
I will never forget this moment.
Which is why learning about your body is extremely important to maintain good health.
Have you ever wondered how women athletes play sport despite having periods? Intense training can cause heavy-duty flow that might cause the players to stain their shorts while the game is going on. Menstrual data of each player is tracked by a technical bench, along with period duration and pain levels. This allows coaches to be lenient with women on days with heavy and painful periods. Based on the data provided, coaches can design training sessions that work around periods. Each woman has her issues, some feel pain and discomfort for one day only, while others may have to skip five days of training to recuperate. Having a technical bench of coaches, trainers, team doctors ensures that menstruation does not affect the training and match days.
